Millers back from Honduras

Charlie and Ellen (back row in turqoise and orange); Chase (light blue), Nate (bright yellow), and Alexandria (red) - all in the middle row. . .

Charlie, Ellen and our kids (Alexandra 17, Nate 14, Chase 11) spent 6 weeks living in Talanga, Honduras at Project Manuelito (http://www.proyectomanuelito.org/) . This is a project for abandoned kids who have mostly been living on the streets of the capital city. Some of them used to beg on the streets and sniff glue all the time. Two of the boys are at the project because their Mom died from AIDS. There are a total of 18 kids living at the project now and there are many success stories! We just became part of their big family for that period of time. We lived in the same dorm building as they did....our family stayed in a room that was about 10'x15'.....nice and cozy! We were up at 5am everyday helping the kids get ready for school. We also started to teach them English. We helped around the project with many different tasks (cooking, laundry, maintenance, construction, homework, etc.) We were able to give some much needed respite to the limited staff at the project. The picture below was taken on our last night there. It was a great experience for the entire family.

You can also read about their trip on their own blog spot http://www.millersinhonduras.blogspot.com/
